CREGG is delighted to be recruiting an External Audit Manager to join the Financial Services Audit Team at a well-known Practice in the South-East. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is looking to work with a wide range of Assurance and Business Advisory Services to a variety of clients across all major industries. The potential candidate will help financial organisations navigate regulatory complexity while strengthening trust and transparency within the client’s organisation. The candidate would be joining a well-established Asset & Wealth Management team and will give the candidate exposure to all kinds of asset management, fund service providers, products, hedge funds, private equity, UCITS, ETFs, money market funds, real estate funds, Islamic funds and more.
As a Manager in the Asset Management industry group, you will be responsible for:
- A portfolio of audit clients and will report directly to the audit partner of each engagement
- You will oversee every aspect of a client engagement, from planning to execution
- Reviewing and monitoring the work of more junior staff on the engagement
- As Manager, you could also be responsible for the overall relationship management with service providers and client
- Liaising with the other managers in relation to resourcing, timetables, cross fund testing, client entertainment, and allocating space to audit teams etc.
- Conducting engagement assessments
- Budgeting and determination of resource requirements
- Billing and iPower management
- Organising engagement and quality review meetings for both planning and completion stages of the audit with partners
- Appraisals for staff members – setting objectives at planning stage and completion of appraisals
- Review of client audit files – planning through to completion, incorporating review of financial statements in line with relevant GAAP and GAAS
- Drafting board reports, engagement letters and audit representation letters
- Liaison in relation to planning of cross funds work with lead managers on relevant service providers
Education/Professional Qualifications:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent from a recognised international accounting institution
- Minimum of 5 years practice accounting experience
- Investment Management experience is essential
- Detailed understanding of Irish GAAP
- Knowledge of US GAAP/ SEC and International Accounting Standards would be an asset
- Leadership skills with a passion to coach, mentor and encourage others to achieve and progress
- Business Acumen – use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information to assist your clients in making innovative business decisions
- Relationship management – ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships
- Creative – demonstrate an ability to contribute to new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
