Skillnet Network Manager – Shannon, Co. Clare (Hybrid Working)


Role Purpose


The Network Manager reports to the Chief Executive and the Chair of the Skillnet Steering Group and is responsible for the management and development of the Skillnet Programmes.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Creating a vibrant and sustainable training community that supports workforce development and innovation the business community.
  • Work with the Promoter, Steering Group, Development Advisor and other stakeholders to ensure that activities align with the overall strategy, aims and objectives of the Network and Skillnet Ireland.
  • Periodically facilitate a strategic review to develop the Network in the short, medium and long-term, so that the Network continues to be a focal point for workforce development and innovation.
  • Drive innovative workforce development initiatives by creating or further leveraging existing collaborative relationships with industry, other Networks, and/or wider stakeholders, while strengthening relationships between Member Companies.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the key sectors within the region, building trust and strong relationships with senior representatives to ensure that Network provision is highly effective and designed to address both current and future needs.
  • Ensure efficient organisation of training days, daily update of control sheets along with construction and roll-out of masterplan
  • Ensure that learning supports are tailored to the world of virtual working and leverage learning technologies as a key agent to encourage workforce development, productivity, and innovation.
  • Identify gaps in existing provision and actively work with partners to develop programmes and/or learning and development products on behalf of Companies.
  • In conjunction with the Finance Department – Develop and maintain robust financial controls and ensure that controls are strictly adhered to with high standards in financial management.
  • Engage in contingency planning, as well as risk assessment, management and reporting.
  • Develop and co-ordinate implementation of the annual promotional plan with Responsibility for the external communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement and brand profile activities while complying with Skillnet Ireland Branding Guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant bodies, seeking out opportunities to develop co-operative and collaborative partners.




  • Significant interest and ambition in building and executing a strategy to drive the skills and talent needs across the region.
  • A strategic thinker, self-directed, taking personal responsibility for the delivery of the network objectives and KPI’s.
  • Essential to the role is excellent organisational skills, time management and networking skills
  • Possess first-class communication skills (both verbal and written), with an ability to collaborate and network effectively
